NO CARBS & AIN'T TALKING ABOUT INDY!!

I'm on the low/no carb diet deal....

I have avoided rice, pasta, potato and bread. I'm eating a lot of meat, cheese, salad and eggs. So far, so good.

Before I buy anything at the store, I give the food labels a hard look. You would be surprised at the amount of carbs in 2 lbs of hamburger --- NONE.

I've lost maybe 5 lbs. to date. In order to speed up the process, I need to start walking -- a lot. For Father's Day maybe somebody will get me a Pod so I can listen to tunes as I move through the day.

Tonight: Pork chops and Broccoflower -- a hybrid of broccoli and colliflower. Interesting stuff.

For the truck race tonight, sign me up for hometown hero Mike Skinner. He needs to post a win. Lowe's Motor Speedway would be a good place to do it.

Stocks: Look out for the MasterCard IPO next week. It's gonna be huge.

ALL STAR PICKS AND STOCK CRASH

Humpy Wheeler, president at Lowe's Motor Speedway, has picked Carl Edwards to win Saturday night's Nextel All Star Challenge.

The race is so goofy, anybody can win it. Throw in the new asphalt surface and hard racing tires and I think either 1. Veterans, or 2. Crazy young drivers who don't know any better are the favorites.

The hybrid would be Matt Kenseth, a use-your-head former champion, who can push a car when it needs to be pushed.

I make him my No. 1 pick for Saturday's show.

The other guy I really like is Tony Stewart, who drives the Home Depot sponsored No. 20 Chevy. How sweet would that be for the Home Depot guys for Stewart to win at Lowe's?

Rounding out my top five:
Kyle Busch
Ryan Newman
Jeff Gordon

Where's Jimmie Johnson you ask?

He generally uses the all star race as a practice run for the big prize -- the Coca-Cola 600 a week from Sunday.

Stocks to stock market:
Ouch! I took a beating across the board today. Good news? Thursday and Friday should be nice buying opportunities, if you have any money left.

See you all tomorrow.

GREG BIFFLE'S BURNOUT

Greg Biffle had a damn good burnout going after winning the Dodge Charger 500 at Darlington. Ironic that Biffle, in a Ford Fusion, would win the Dodge Charger.

Why do car manufacturers sponsor races? Does anybody know the answer to that question??

CROWDING MICHAEL WALTRIP

The media was all over Michael Waltrip at Darlington when he announced he had signed Dale Jarrett as a Toyota driver in 2007. Michael just doesn't look very happy to me. How about you?
